AN OLD BUILDING

dsc_0983_detail

Well, I hope that all of you out there have had a very filling and enjoyable Thanksgiving.  I sure did.  I always eat to much!

So, this is a re-post on the old building that I shot in the Coal Mining town of Shenandoah, PA.  I really did not like the other Image of it, so I’ve edited the photo to make it look better.  What I did was take out allot the the darn wires that I dislike in my photo’s.  I also took out the distracting telephone pole that was on the left corner.  I took out some of the weeds left growing around the building.  This one I like better.

This old building has been here for a long time.  It has a weathered look to it.  I never could find out what it was or used for.  In my opinion it might have been a ice storage place or something close.  A factory that produced something years ago and employed many people.  Wish I could have gained access to the inside to see what’s in there.  Just to find out what it was.  There are many buildings in Shenandoah that are like this.  It’s a old Coal Mining town, so much of what used to be is no more since Coal is no longer King.

KEEPING A JOURNAL

journaleditor

Instead of writing about something in History, which I think I may do too much of, I’m going to go out on a different limb, so to speak, and Post about some other things that are truly about me.  Normally, I don’t say much about my personal Life, but I think I’ll give some of it a try and see what happens.

One of the things I’ve been thinking about doing is keeping a Journal about my Life in the past & present.  The reason for this is when I’m gone from this World I want some people to know what is true about me and what is not.  No one, but NO ONE, will see this Journal until I’m dead and gone.  Not even my Wife!  It will be kept private until after my death.  Then who-ever gets it can open it and read what I have said about the passing years.  There are some things I want set straight because I have been accused of doing things I never did.  It will be my last speak from the past from me!

There are some problems with this, however.  If I keep a Journal on-line what happens if my computer fails?  I’ll loose everything I have put down on paper.  I do have a program very similar to the one pictured above.  I like it and it looks nice and it’s easy to use.  Maybe what I should do is print out what I say, and keep it hidden somewhere.  I also have another problem.  I have in my head what I want to say, and it’s going to be allot, but I have trouble getting it from my head down on paper/screen!  If you all understand what I go through.

So, I’m going to give this a good try and see how I like it as I go along.

CHRISTS CHURCH

Christs Church in Philadelphia, PA was founded in 1695 as the Church of England.  Located very near the Independence Park when our Nation was born it had 15 signers of the Declaration of Independence.  People who attended here were George Washington, Ben Franklin, Robert Morris, and Betsy Ross.

The Church is huge on the outside and inside.  The Image above was taken just as I entered the Church and the fella is pointing to me to take a seat and learn History.  I did so.  Most of the people like George Washington and Ben Franklin had their own assigned seats that are marked with a Brass Plate showing where they sat.  George and Ben took their seat up front where the fella in the Blue shirt is.  More than 250,000 people a year tour this Historic Church.

Not my Image, but this is what the Church looked like long ago.
