SHED IS GONE!

Hello all, and welcome back.

A few years ago, I had made a Post about fixing up the shed that I have in our back yard.  I put some work into this old shed to keep in in good condition.  Here I tried to dress it up a bit to make it look more attractive.

As time went by, I noticed that on the inside the shed was slowly falling apart.  The roof was leaking, supports were rotting away, and some of the wood was just way beyond repair.  There was mildew on some of the wood because of getting wet.  It was at the point that it was getting quite bad.  So, after much consideration, we decided to tear the whole thing down and get a new one that is more modern and built by today’s standards.

It took me a few day’s to knock the whole thing down.  Allot of work to do that!  The ole’ shed was in such bad condition, that it nearly fell on me while working on it!  I was not sure just how to take apart the roof & supports, so after sawing off some key supports, I gave the frame work a mighty shove and it all fell to the ground!  It was a mess to clean up!  All that bad wood had to be loaded into a flat bed trailer and carted off to the recycle place for disposal.  Thank goodness for a Recipting Saw that helped out allot!

This is all that remains of the ole’ shed.  To make way for the “new shed” we bought one that is a bit bigger than the old one.  That’s what the 4×4 extensions are for on the one end.  Had to fill it with Stone for support.  The other side will have the same thing done.  This may not look like allot of work, but don’t be fooled.  It was back breaking getting all that bad wood hauled away.  I’m not getting any younger!  So now, it is just about ready for the new one.

This is the “new shed” that will arrive on the 24th of Oct.  It measures 8×12, and is quite roomy inside.  Lot’s of room to store my tools, lawn mower, etc.  Much better than before.  However, these things are not cheap!  If you want good quality workmanship, you have to pay for it.  This was built by a very reputable manufacture in our area.  I don’t want junk.  This one will last past my Lifetime!

Thank You.
